THE BIBLE

How do I know God loves me ?
How do I know I have eternal life ?
How do I know Jesus rose from the dead and is a living, personal friend, who will be with me moment by moment in my daily life ?
Because God says so in the Bible ?

The Bible is full of the promises of God to all who trust in Jesus Christ.
It shows you how to become a Christian; it shows you the way ahead.
The trouble with many Christians is that they do not read the Bible to find out these promises.
Instead of relying on the promises of God, far too many Christians rely on their feelings or their own ideas.
If you are tired or ill, if you have troubles and worries at home or at work, you may not feel you are a Christian.
Don't rely on your feelings which go up and down.
Trust the promises of God.

Hudson Taylor, the famous missionary to China once said, 'There is a living God; He has spoken in the Bible. He means what He says and will do all He has promised.'
What does this mean in practice ?

How do I know God loves me ?

Jesus said, 'God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life' (John 3.16).
God showed His love for you because He sent Jesus Christ to die on the cross to save you from your sins.

How can I know Jesus is in my life ?

Jesus said, 'If any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in' (Revelation 3.20).
Have you asked Him into your life ?  Then what does he promise ?
He says, quite clearly and definitely:

'I WILL COME IN.'

Don't rely on what you feel; you may not feel any different.
If you have asked Him in, you can know He has come in, you can know He has come in, because He says so.

How can I be certain I have eternal life ?

Jesus says, 'He that believeth on me hath everlasting life' (John 6.47)
Do you believe in Jesus, do you trust Him ? Well then, what does He promise you ? Eternal life here and now. You know you have eternal life because He promises it to you.

How can I be sure He is with me, if I don't feel Him or see Him ?

Jesus said, 'I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world' (Matthew 28.20).
He is with you all the time because he says He will be. Don't rely on what you feel. Trust His promise: 'I am with you alway.'
