Jesus rose from the dead

The gospel writers record the resurrection of Jesus and it is mentioned throughout the new  testament.

"For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance that Christ died for our sins  according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to  the Scriptures, and he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. After that he appeared to more  than five hundred of the brothers at the same time." (1 Corinthians Chapter 15 verses 1 to 6a
New International Version)

The rest of the chapter continues about the resurection of Jesus.

I read the following on British Broadcasting Corporation Teletext page 146 today

"My own preaching of the resurrection is evolving. I preach it as a symbol, not neccessarily as a  brute physical fact. I'm agnostic on that."
Dr Richard Holloway, Bishop of Edinburgh (Scotland)

Countless Christians the world over will join with Paul to say to Dr Holloway

"But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that  there is no resurrection of the dead ? If there is no resurrestion of the dead, then not even Christ  has been raised. and if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.
more than that, we are found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God  that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. For  if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been  raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men." (1  Corinthians Chapter 15 verses 12 to 19 New International Version)

Do you believe Jesus rose from the dead ?
Jesus died for our sins, so that we can be raised from the dead also.
And the best thing is we can know once we accept Jesus as our saviour that we have this eternal  life

"And this is the testimony that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. he who has  the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to  you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life."
(1 John Chapter 5 verses 11 to 13 New International Version)

Take note Dr Holloway and all other "Christians" who don't believe in the resurrection, or that  Jesus is the only way to God or that if we put our trust in Jesus today, we can know (be assured)  that we have eternal life today.

best wishes,

Michael.
